Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create an account?

Please look at the instructions on this page. If you still  have questions, please email 2500hoursoflove@eruuf.org.

How do I log the hours I volunteer?

Tracking hours is simple! You can quickly set up an account here and then log your hours over the course of the year.

Where can I find project opportunities?
  • See the List of Organizations and Projects here, which have been vetted and identified by various ERUUF members
  • See the Calendar for individual events coming up that you can attend
  • Talk to other ERUUFians, neighbors, and friends for more ideas.
What if I am already involved with a relevant volunteer effort that is not on the 2500 Hours website list or calendar?

No problem! Please send an email to 2500hoursoflove@eruuf.org and someone will get back to you.

How do I let others know about a project opportunity and organization not currently listed on the 2500 Hours web page?

There are lots of additional organizations and projects in the area working towards racial equity that are not on our lists. Share your information with others by filling out a Project Suggestion Form here.

How do I know if a project is a good fit with 2500 Hours of Love?

If the project connects ERUUFians beyond our walls, AND if you can answer yes to one or more of the questions below, you are good to go!

  • Does the sponsoring organization explicitly support racial equity?
  • Does the project within a sponsoring organization focus on racial equity?
  • Does the project serve a majority BIPOC community?
How do I decide how many hours to submit for an event I attended?
  • Use your best judgement, focusing on actual time engaged in volunteer work.
  • Round up to the nearest whole hour.
  • Include any significant time preparing for your volunteer work (such as gathering/creating materials, coordinating a team of volunteers, training for volunteer work such as tutoring).
  • In general, travel time to and from your volunteer destination would not be considered as volunteer hours.
If someone joins me in my volunteer work who is NOT a member of ERUUF, can their volunteer hours count towards the project?

Yes! Encourage your friends and family members to create an account and start logging their hours!
