There is a recurring volunteer opportunity at the East Durham Market, every 3rd Thursday of the month at Antioch Baptist Church, 1415 Holloway Street. Volunteer shifts run 2pm – 5pm, or 4:45 – 7:30pm. Tasks may include packing dry goods, packing produce bags, restocking shelves, cleaning, or help with distribution.
We require masks over nose and mouth due to Covid. We work a lot outdoors, so people need to be ready for any weather, and to be able to carry some heavy grocery bags.
Additional volunteer opportunities include: East Durham Food Co-op and other events hosted by CIP, like vaccination clinics or cleaning and restocking days for our East Durham Market.
Communities In Partnership is a community rooted organization that is Black-led and the vast majority of the people we serve are Black, with some Latinx representation.
